Desk with billing statement and calculator

Are you a homeowner or property owner who recently received an assessment billing notice from Last Chance Irrigation Company? If so, please be sure to pay your assessment by the end of the month to avoid any late fees.

Assessment billings are typically sent out in early April, and the due date is around May 31. This means that you have about a month to make your payment and avoid any penalties.

Assessments are important because they help fund important services and improvements to the ditch.

Here are some things that your assessment helps to pay for:

  • Maintenance and repair of ditches: This includes clearing debris from ditches, repairing culverts and other infrastructure, and other routine maintenance tasks to keep the water flowing properly.
  • Installation of new drainage systems: In areas where drainage systems are inadequate or outdated, ditch assessment fees may be used to install new drainage infrastructure to improve water management and prevent flooding.
  • Weed and pest control: Ditch assessments may also cover the cost of controlling weeds and pests that can interfere with drainage systems and cause problems.
  • Administrative expenses: Collecting and managing ditch assessments requires administrative work, such as billing property owners, keeping records, and managing budgets. Some of the assessment fees are used to cover these expenses.

If you’re not sure how to make your payment, check the billing notice for instructions or give our office a call at 775-323-5224 or email [email protected].

It’s also not a bad idea to mark the due date on your calendar or set a reminder on your phone so you won’t forget to make your payment and risk incurring a late fee.
